The navicular bone is a boat shaped, small size that is nestled deep at the hooves and only measures about two centimeters deep and six centimeters wide on a horse. This bone may be small but it brings a lot of problem to a horse due to the fact that it is small, abode and cushy stature. Even though this bone is small, it has a huge responsibility and offer a great help on horses in their daily activities. When it comes with navicular disease treatment, individuals can perform the treatment by themselves and allow the horses to give time for them to rest.

Navicular disease is a common disease that causes the horses to become lame primarily in their forelimbs. A lot of equines have already been hit by these diseases and without formal treatment procedures, it has become one of the many problems that ranchers faces. There is still a way to save an equine from being lame and visiting the veterinarian is one of them.

The bone called navicular is a small bone that sit deeply inside the hooves right in the junction of pastern and coffin bones. This have a shape similar to a canoe. It has lots of soft tissues that attaches to other parts of the body. It has associated structures and the anatomy is very complex.

The treatments for navicular syndromes diseases ranges from aggressive to conservative. This may involve various medications, therapeutic shoeing and surgeries. The therapy will not correspond effectively and may provide unpredictable consequences and does not literally correlate on radiographic abnormalities or on the degree of lameness.

A veterinarian should also consider surgical, medicinal therapies and include the intake of anti inflammatory drugs to dilate the vessels into the foot, acupunctures and oral health supplements that is meant for the joints. However, even with all the treatment options, there are still horses that does not improve their chances and still suffer the disease.

When the response of treatment is still insufficient, the reasons of failures is sometimes because of lacking information and data regarding the abnormality that causes the lameness and other specific lesions. Even though that some treatment does not prove to be effective, there are still hope and approaching a science lab could become a good way.

When pressure is being applied right on the heels on the foot, it expands. This compresses the cushion under the soles and pump blood throughout the whole foot. Having a poor foot conformation will also contribute in having a por blood flow.

Researching is the only way to learn more about the diseases and possible treatments. Individual must assess the situation and look for ways to find a solution. Take your time and find t6he right procedure that will provide a better chance in combating the diseases.

Budgeting is very important. Individuals will have to be financially prepared to pay for all the possible expenses that might occur during the procedure. Contact the vets and compare ask for estimation before making a decision.
