Football is undoubtedly the most popular sport in the United States. It is by far the most watched event in the entire nation, bringing together multitudes of people from all walks of life. This creates a friendly, testosterone driven atmosphere filled with shouts and cheers for their bets to win.
This can be applicable to sports as well. Such is the case of St Thomas Aquinas High School Football Team for constantly winning games in every state. Some may call it luck, but this group of gifted individuals have the skills to win even if it is against destiny itself.
The Raiders are considered the best football players in the high school level, and for valid reasons. They have also produced such student athletes as Chris Evert, Michael Irvin, and Sanya Richards Ross. Not only have they won tons of trophies, they have maintained an enviable culture of respect and professionalism.
They especially have great chemistry on defense that makes them play so well. Their defense would simply not permit a touchdown from their opponents. With its multitude of state championships won and college athletes produced, it is of no surprise that their team would also come out the best and toughest in the sports arena.
Such sports that students participate in are practically considered simulations in which the teen develops quick decision making skills, empathy, proper conduct, respect, and most especially teamwork. This has been incorporated by St Thomas Aquinas into their students and has long since benefited from the positive results of their athletic programs ever since.
They have also shown great respect to each other and to other groups. There is not a trace of degrading trash talk between The Raiders and any other team. They also avoid any hint of juicy locker room tidbits or controversies for people to feast on. This proves the degree of professionalism that these students hold.
Different opponents have always tried relying on pushing the Aquinas defense to no avail. The Raiders simply would not allow it and keep stopping their run. As effective as their defenses, their offense is also as powerful with a number of touchdowns. Ultimately, this has secured them at the highest pedestal of youth sports.
Opponents can either attack them intelligently and powerfully, or end up reduced to a heap. Quite frankly, some even achieve both. It is still a good thing though because at least the opponent did not lose without a good fight.
The Raiders took on the challenge of football as high school kids. That alone is a great inspiration for people to have more confidence in themselves and at least have a shot of pursuing their passion, may it be sport or another endeavor. It may be just a game to some, but to others it is a life changing and enlightening path to discover your capabilities and test your limits.
